Wednesday, October 31, 2012 CSC/CSC/KALLANG/JURONG/IMPROMPTU(again) STEAMBOAT I call today the 'BAD LUCK DAY'. I woke up bright & early today morning at 6 and prepared breakfast for the family as well as for Rachel and myself to bring it to swimming cos we planned to swim at chinese swimming club. So yeah here goes. We met at arnd 7 plus and traveled all the way to chinese swimming club. But unfortunately the forgetful-as-always me forgot to bring the member card so we decided to try our luck to sneak inside or smth. But we were stopped by the security guard and we were not allowed in. Ohnooo. That's not the end of the bad luck day. While walking back to parkway parade, we were thinking if we should go to Civil Service Club instead to swim. But we had no membership card with us. So we decided to call them to ask if we are able to swim without membership card in case we wasted our trip there. Indeed, we need the membership card to swim there. But that was not really bad luck. More bad luck came. We were super mad hungry then. So we decided to eat at the food court at parkway parade. We walked one round at the basement only to realise that the food court was down for renovation. & i had a huge craving for bak chor mee at that time. & the bak chor mee at that food court was superb. That's why it was damn torturous for me. Nope, not the end of bad luck day. We still wanted to swim. Rachel was looking at the bus directory and she saw that there was a direct bus to Kallang Sports Complex from parkway. SO, we decided to go there! When we reached there, to our horror, the swimming complex looked super old & haggard & deserted & creepy & isolated & haunted. Really. Besides, the swimming complex wasn't even open. So yeah, we totally wasted our trip there. Greeeeat. -_- Still not the end of bad luck day ah! By the time, i was already super disappointed in all things swimming related. Rachel, still not giving up, decided that we should go to Jurong West Swimming Complex! Mmmm, i was thinking, maybe this can be our last hope! So yes, with full of hope and happiness, off we go! BUT. Half way, or maybe three quarter through our MRT journey towards our destination, It started to look as if it was going to rain. I told Rachel about it. And true enough, it started raining. HEAVILY. -_- REALLY?! REALLY!!!! Rachel STILL not giving up, decided that we should go get groceries at Jurong point for our steamboat first to wait for the rain so subside. Cos while on the way to swimming complex, we were planning to have steamboat after swimming at jurong. So yes, bought all the our steamboat stuff. And just nice! The rain subsided. So yes, we continued our journey. But we alighted at the wrong station and even tapped our card out. -_- We went back in to get to the correct station. After we got down the correct station, we walked a long distance from the MRT station to the swimming complex. Only to realise..... the swimming complex was closed temporarily for maintenance i think. Screwed up life-s we have. That's pretty much the end of BAD LUCK DAY. It was seriously too bad to be true. But it was unfortunately true. --- Yep, tomyam soup! And ALL these food for 2 persons. Ok not really. We gave some to Rachel's dad but STILL. OH & the glass noodles you saw is not what we really ate. I think we ate like 5 times of that portion of noodles. We had a great steamboat time together though! Although i gained 2.4kg from it. (for real) We bought too much food and we had 2 sessions of steamboat. Initially we were very full alr. But we were still left with a lot of food! So Rachel suggested we have a break first and continue later. So yeah we had a break, and waited for our stomachs to feel less full. Then we continued. LOL. I swear i'd never felt so full in my life. My stomach still feels bloated now. & I don't think i'm gonna eat glass noodles and straw mushrooms and tomyam soup and crab sticks and hotdogs for a few months. .__. The thought of it makes me feel like puking already. |
